Radiant Skin: 5 Things Anyone Can Do to Have Healthy, Radiant, Flawless Skin
An Interview With Athalia Monae from Authority Magazine
Feed Your Skin with the Right Nutrients and Water — Your skin reflects what’s happening inside your body. If you’re eating processed foods, sugar, and refined oils, expect dull, inflamed, and prematurely aging skin. Ultra antioxidants and healthy fats are important for healthy radiant flawless skin.
Each day, millions strive to unlock the secrets of blemish-free, luminous skin, yet many find this goal frustratingly out of reach. In a market saturated with quick fixes and fad trends, it’s vital to cut through the noise and understand what truly works. Our skin is our largest organ and the shield between our bodies and the outside world; it deserves more than just a superficial approach. As part of this series, we had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Vincent Candrawinata.
Dr. Vincent’s journey began with a personal mission to combat degenerative diseases through natural compounds. His research led to a groundbreaking discovery — an innovative method to extract and activate the world’s most potent antioxidants from apples using only water. This world’s first breakthrough, initially developed to support joint health, soon revealed powerful benefits for skin renewal and protection — all through the remarkable inflammation fighting power.
Inspired by the skin-rejuvenating properties of these Ultra Antioxidants, Dr. Vincent founded Vincent+, an Australian skincare brand harnessing the power of apples to promote healthier, more radiant skin. The brand’s 3-plus-step routine, now launched in the U.S., is formulated with nature’s most potent antioxidants to transform skin from the cellular level, combat environmental stressors and support skin vitality.
Rooted in science and sustainability, Vincent’s skincare line is 100% natural and free from harsh chemicals, staying true to Dr. Vincent’s commitment to innovation and purity. What started as a personal quest has now evolved into a global movement — bringing the patented Ultra Antioxidants of apples from the orchard to the skin.
Thank you so much for joining us in this interview series. Before we dive into our discussion about networking, our readers would love to “get to know you” a bit better. Can you share with us the backstory about what brought you to your specific career path?
My career path was inspired by a deeply personal experience. Growing up, I watched my grandmother — a once vibrant dancer — lose her mobility due to severe joint deterioration. Seeing her go from being full of life to confined to a chair was heartbreaking, and I became determined to find a natural way to combat degenerative diseases. I became a scientist hoping I could change the world, and I am so blessed that the first person whose world I changed was my own grandmother.
At 20, I moved to Australia to study antioxidants, specifically a powerful group as phenolics. After three years of research, I made a breakthrough — discovering a way to extract and activate the most potent antioxidants from apples using only water, called Ultra Antioxidants. My grandmother was the first person to experience the potency of these phenolics, after taking it for three months, she became free from pain and was able to start walking and even dancing again. While my first focus was joint health, I soon realized these compounds had incredible benefits for skin cellular protection and renewal.
When I saw the transformative effects, I knew I had to bring this discovery beyond the lab. That’s what led me to create Vincent+, an Australian skincare brand harnessing the power of apples to promote healthier, more resilient skin. Now, as we launch in the U.S., my mission remains the same: to bring nature’s most potent antioxidants from the orchard to skincare, helping people feel confident in their skin through science and innovation.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started your career?
The most interested story would be being known as “The Apple Guy.” In some cases, people remember that more than my name, which is funny! Another would be that people often come up to me to tell me how I have changed their lives — that’s really inspiring.
I started my research to help my grandma and the mission of my company is to help people become healthier and happier. As a scientist, seeing that my research has a real life impact, is truly humbling and fulfilling. I remember walking into a meeting with the biggest retailer in Australia and the boss of the buyer’s boss recognized me as “The Apple Guy” and told me that he was already a customer of our product.
You are a successful business leader. Which three character traits do you think were most instrumental to your success? Can you please share a story or example for each?
I know it may sound like a cliché but the first trait is sincerity. My dad always said that while it’s good to be an important person, it is much more important to be a good person. Growing up, I always remember this.
Perseverance is something that I learned when I started my journey as a scientist. You now when they say dream big? It’s easy to dream big, what’s not so easy is to wake up, take a shower and fight for your dream.
I also believe that confidence is important — not only the confidence to believe in yourself, but the confidence to ask for help, admit that you don’t know everything and that you need to continuously learn.
My high school math teacher once told me that I would never amount to anything because in his eyes I was stupid and for some reason still unknown to me today, he really did dislike me — but it’s okay, I learned to like myself and to back myself. I ended up graduating with a perfect math score at the national exam, placing in the Top 10 of graduates in the whole country.
What are your “ 5 Things Anyone Can Do to Have Healthy, Radiant, Flawless Skin”?
Feed Your Skin with the Right Nutrients and Water — Your skin reflects what’s happening inside your body. If you’re eating processed foods, sugar, and refined oils, expect dull, inflamed, and prematurely aging skin. Ultra antioxidants and healthy fats are important for healthy radiant flawless skin.
Simplify Your Skincare Routine — More products do not equal better skin. Overloading your skin with too many actives and harsh ingredients can actually cause irritation, breakouts, and inflammation. Stick to high-quality, science-backed ingredients — not trends. Ultra Antioxidants in skincare provide powerful protection against pollution, UV damage, and oxidative stress.
Protect Your Skin from the #1 Cause of Premature Aging — The biggest skin-damaging factor? UV radiation. It’s responsible for 90% of visible skin aging, hyperpigmentation, and loss of collagen and elasticity. While people know about sunscreen, many still don’t understand the ultimate strategy to counter UV induced aging. Ultra antioxidants play a key role because while sunscreen blocks UV, Ultra antioxidants neutralize the damage. Sunscreen + Ultra Antioxidants = the best anti-aging combination.
Support Your Skin While You Sleep — Your skin repairs itself at night, producing collagen, elastin, and new skin cells. But if your sleep is poor, your skin ages faster. If you’re not sleeping well, your skin will look tired, dull, and more wrinkled. Prioritize sleep like you do your skincare routine!
Manage Stress — It Shows on Your Skin — Stress triggers inflammation, causes breakouts, redness, and premature wrinkles. When cortisol (the stress hormone) is high, your skin suffers. Ultra Antioxidants help your body recover from stress and inflammation. Your skin can’t glow if your body is in stress mode. Keep your cortisol levels in check!
What are the most common misconceptions about daily skincare routines that prevent people from achieving radiant skin?
One of the biggest misconceptions about daily skincare routines is the belief that more products = better skin. The beauty industry has convinced people that they need a 10-step routine. The idea that layering multiple serums, acids, and actives will fast-track you to glowing skin. In reality, overloading your skin is a one-way ticket to irritation, inflammation, and a confused skin barrier screaming for help.
The beauty industry has mastered the art of convincing people they need a 10-step routine, because more products mean more sales. But your skin? It doesn’t need a 10-course meal every night. The truth is, you skin thrives on balance, not excess. More products do not equal more benefits. Sometimes, your skin just needs to breathe.
Skincare should be simple, powerful, and effective — not an overwhelming chemistry project. Think of skincare like nutrition: A well-balanced meal nourishes your body, but overeating makes you sick. Your skin is the same. Overloading it with too many actives and unnecessary layers won’t make it glow — it’ll make it stressed out, inflamed, and confused.
Science over trends. Smart skincare = Happy skin. Please believe me, your skin (and your wallet) will thank you.
Could you share your insights on how diet and nutrition directly affect skin health, and perhaps suggest some superfoods for skin radiance?
True skin health starts from within. What you eat plays a huge role in how your skin looks and feels. The biggest culprit behind dull, aging, and breakout-prone skin? Inflammation.
Processed foods, sugar, and unhealthy fats trigger inflammation, breaking down collagen and elastin, leading to wrinkles, sagging, and irritation. Antioxidant-rich foods help neutralize oxidative stress, reduce inflammation, and support skin repair and hydration.
This is where Ultra Antioxidants come in. Derived from apples, they are over 30x more bioactive than regular antioxidants, making them powerful in fighting inflammation, protecting collagen, and keeping skin healthy from the inside out. The bottom line is, the less inflammation in your body, the better your skin will look. Eat for cellular health, prioritize Ultra Antioxidants, and your skin will glow naturally!
How do you recommend individuals tailor their skincare routine to address the unique needs of their skin type and environment?
Skincare shouldn’t be confusing and overwhelming. Your skin type and environmental factors (humidity, pollution, climate) play a big role in how your skin behaves — but that doesn’t mean you need a complicated, multi-step routine to adjust for every variable.
That’s exactly why I created Vincent+, a skincare range designed to work for all skin types and environments without the need for overcomplicated layering.
Instead of forcing people to choose between endless formulas, Vincent+ is designed with Smart Delivery Technology, which:
Works for all skin types, including sensitive skin — The formula adjusts to your skin’s needs without irritation.
Adapts to different environments — Whether you’re in a dry winter climate or a humid summer, the ingredients provide balanced hydration, protection, and repair.
Delivers Ultra Antioxidants in their most bioavailable form — 33x more bioactive than standard antioxidants, ensuring deep penetration and long-term skin health.
This means you don’t need to switch products based on skin type or climate — Vincent+ does the work for you. I created Vincent+ because I saw how the beauty industry makes skincare overwhelming, forcing people to buy different products for different skin types and conditions. But the truth is, your skin doesn’t need more — it needs the right technology that adapts to it.
One routine for any skin type, one formula for any environment — Vincent+ delivers simple, powerful, and science-backed skincare. That’s the Vincent+ difference.
What advances in skincare science or new ingredients are you most excited about that promise to enhance skin health and radiance?
One of the most exciting advances in skincare science isn’t just about slowing down aging — it’s about regenerating and repairing the skin at a deeper level. This is where Ultra Antioxidants are changing the game. Ultra Antioxidants, which are 33x more bioactive than standard antioxidants, are already proven to fight oxidative stress, protect collagen, and reduce inflammation. But my research is now focused on taking their potency even further — not just for skincare, but for wound healing, tissue repair, and regenerative medicine.
This is where my future research is headed, pushing the boundaries of Ultra Antioxidants beyond skincare into regenerative medicine.
Oxidative stress slows down the skin’s ability to repair itself after cuts, burns, and surgical wounds. Ultra Antioxidants have the potential to accelerate healing, support faster cell turnover, reduce scarring, and improve skin regeneration after surgery or injury. And because Ultra Antioxidants can protect and repair cells at a deeper level, they could be used to support skin healing in post-cancer patients, helping restore skin strength and hydration.
For me the future of skincare isn’t just about anti-aging — it’s about true skin repair and transformation at the cellular level.
Can you describe a holistic approach to skincare that encompasses not just topical treatments but also lifestyle and wellness practices?
A holistic approach to skincare goes beyond just what you apply to your skin — it’s about nourishing your body, managing stress, and protecting your skin from within. Topical treatments are important, but what you eat, how you sleep, and how you handle stress all impact your skin’s health. Prioritizing antioxidant-rich foods, staying hydrated, getting quality sleep, and managing inflammation are just as crucial as using the right skincare products.
This is why Vincent+ combines Ultra Antioxidants for both topical and internal support, ensuring skin is protected, repaired, and strengthened from the inside out. A simple yet effective skincare routine, a balanced diet, sun protection, and reducing oxidative stress through lifestyle choices all work together to promote radiant, healthy skin for the long term.
You are a person of great influence. If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. :-)
If I could start a movement, it would be a movement for people to be kind to themselves. We often remind others to be kind, to show compassion, understanding, and patience — but we forget to apply that to ourselves. Self-kindness is just as important. This means being kind to our minds, our bodies, and even our skin.
True self-kindness isn’t just about positive thinking — it’s about nourishing our health, making choices that support our well-being, and treating ourselves with the same care we extend to others. This includes feeding our bodies with the right nutrients, protecting our skin, managing stress, and embracing a simple, sustainable approach to self-care. When we prioritize self-kindness, we don’t just look better — we feel better, live better, and inspire others to do the same.
Thank you for the time you spent sharing these fantastic insights. We wish you only continued success in your great work!
Great read, with loads of useful information. Just love all your products.
